The Root 44 Market is set in the beautiful landscape of Audacia Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The market is open every weekend, with a crowd of loyal locals and market-loving tourists buzzing around all day. There are sizable design and craft buildings, with stunning, great quality wares on sale. There is also an incredible children's area, with fantastic security and lots for the kids to do. There is local music talent gracing the outdoor stage, with ample seating nearby. The facilities are wonderful, with lovely bathrooms, on site ATMs, and well organised parking.

This is the home of heavenly flatbreads. They come loaded with dry aged, free range meat or wild mushroom rolls (vegetarian), salad slaw, wild rocket, slithers of Parmesan cheese, basil pesto oil, and served with sweet potato fries.

This is where you can get a delicious salad platter for only R50. These Mediterranean concoctions are ideal for vegans, vegetarians, or straight up salad lovers.
If you have a raging sweet tooth, head straight for Yummilicious. Rosenkuchen with a twist is what you'll find. These traditional Swiss delights are piled high with delicious toppings, from marshmallows to peppermint crisp, and finished off with a generous dusting of icing sugar.

If you're on a budget, but are looking for a yummy snack, you could pick something up for under R30. Fish Stop has affordable fish cakes and chips, and Sprung has yummy spring rolls for R25.
You can't go wrong with a pizza! Our favourite on the menu was topped with basil pesto, feta and cherry tomatoes.

If you're into a little bit of spice, the Mexican options are vast! Head over to The Pickled Popper for their famous Chilli Poppers and a burrito, or head to Sénor Onion for nachos and tacos.
8. Bamboo Noodle Bar
Bamboo Noodle Bar is the place to go if you want delicious Kung Pow. You can choose between sweet and sour, cashew, and honey sesame to name a few.
9. Wendy's Smoothie Bar
If the summer heat is getting to you and you simply need to cool down, Wendy's Smoothie Bar has the most delicious juice krushers. They are not too sweet and they taste like real fruit. Kind of like a slush puppy for grown ups.
