A perfect outing for friends and family with something for everyone to enjoy.
Announced one of the top 10 markets in South Africa, The Linden Market is back for a full year of fun amongst the people and trees of Johannesburg in the Botanical gardens of Emmarentia. We are kicking off the year on the 7th of April when the days are a cooler and a little more orange. The autumn market will be full of local flavour – from the craftsmen, to the sound, to the chefs that will be tantalising your taste buds. This year we aspire to continue to bring the community and artists together in our mission to support local talent, preserve artisanal traditions, swap malls for markets, all while showcasing our beautiful suburb. We have some exciting new initiatives and some great familiar ones on our market line-up. Bring your friends and start your day with a proper stretch in our morning yoga session that starts at 9am. Dog lovers can fall in love with a beautiful 4 legged friend while taking part in the Community-Led Animal Welfare (CLAW) project together with Date-a-Dog. If you don’t know what this is about, come to The Linden Market and take a dog for a walk through the market to find out. #adoptdontshop South Africa’s music scene is exploding with talent and you can be sure to see some of our top local acts setting the groove for the day. We have also decided to incorporate live art this time around. Various artist and illustrators will be creating a live mural on an unexpected canvas adding to the festive and creative atmosphere we treasure at The Linden Market! If you are worried about the kids, don’t be. We have a fun Kids Corner to entertain the young ones with activities such as sand art while you are sipping on your glass of MCC. The Linden Market has been one of the favourites on many calendars over the years and often we hear, “Where can I find this amazing product but the market?” That is why we are very excited to announce that soon you will be able to shop for your favourite goods online. Yes, you have heard us. The Market is moving one more time – online. This is truly a first from one of the top markets in SA, an initiative that aims to further support what we believe in. Maintaining a platform where our local designers, craftsman and foodies can flourish throughout the year. Speaking of which, we already have the year planned. Be sure to pen down our 2018 market datea in your calendar to never miss out on our festive Saturdays celebrating our community and talent.
