The Linden Market

Emmarentia, Johannesburg

Swap Malls for Markets, and shop Local!

When winter hits we all want to stay inside and hibernate… but luckily Jozi has the best sunny winter days to go out. Even if it’s chilly, The Linden Market Winter Edition will keep things HOT this winter, on Saturday 13 July 2019 at the Botanical Gardens, Emmarentia. With over 160 of the most innovative and incredible stalls selling everything from wonderful warm winter foods to toasty hot chocolate and coffee, cozy jackets, beautiful boots, exquisite art and body products – there truly is something for everyone to warm up your winter. If the shopping doesn’t turn on the heat, our music lineup sure will. We are so excited to introduce new bands to TLM Winter edition. Live violin & sax electronic duo, Luca Tim will kick of the day, followed by a marimba band, Cole Train, who will surely get you dancing to their exotic beats and warm up your bones. To end the day off on an ever bigger high is the awesome 6-piece band, Sea of Green. TLM is for the whole family and that’s why we always have exciting things to do for the little ones. This time round we are excited to announce the introduction of the TLM Kidpreneurs Market. Kids are so creative and at TLM we believe in encouraging them and kindling their entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. 15 Kidpreneurs will have their own stalls where they can sell their products to market goers from 11:00-13:00. To keep the kids entertained for the rest of the day, we also have our impressive stiltmen, face painting, creative arts and a jumping castle. We also want to warm peoples hearts with our TLM Winter warmers 2019 campaign. Our charity, CLAW, does incredible work not only for homeless animals, but also for people. CLAW distributes food parcels, facilitates a home-based care program to teach people how to care for the sick and dying, runs food gardens, supports child-headed households and helps communities access health and hospice care. We call on all the TLM fans to bring that jacket or jersey that you haven’t worn for a while and extra shoes that’s only lying in your cupboard. Make a difference and donate to the wonderful team of CLAW, to truly make a difference in this cold season. As always Benji and Moon together with CLAW, will host old market favorite Date-a-Dog, where you can take homeless pups for a walk around the market and if you happen to fall in love, you can adopt. This initiative has been so successful at previous markets, as well as at the Autumn edition where 7 CLAWbies were adopted and R4 740 raised in donations. We don’t only want to make a difference in people’s (and puppies’) lives but we also want to do our part to help save the planet. TLM is going green this winter and has partnered with SWIG who will bring their eco-friendly, reusable, TLM-branded cups to the market. It is such a great initiative where you pay a deposit of R10 to get your cup – which you can use anywhere around the market. At the end of the day you can either return it to get your deposit back, or you can keep it as a keepsake of the day (and use it again the next time you come). Remember TLM is a dog friendly market, so bring the whole family for a winter celebration. General entry: R30, Pensioners: R15, Kids: Enter Free. Get Online Tickets: https://qkt.io/Rya672 Parking: R20 at Rooseveldt high (proceeds go to the school). Please make use of this parking rather than parking on the street, as it is safe! Be sure not to miss out and make a note of the dates to save for the rest of the year - 28 September and our Christmas Market on 30 November and 1 December.
