The end of winter's chill is in sight and the return of warm sunshine, budding blossoms and singing birds are around the corner... so is The Linden Market on the 28th of September. Come celebrate the change of seasons as the home of TLM, the Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia, come to life with the Spring Edition. In line with celebrating the new season, The Linden Market is also celebrating two very exciting new partnerships. We are thrilled to announce Classic 1027 as our media partner. Classic 1027 has recently rebranded and is all about making the great Classical music genre more accessible. Introducing a new space in the gardens to the market, Classic1027 will bring a string quartet playing the classics and some popular music that you might recognize, as classical pieces. Classics in the Garden will take place between 12:00-14:00 on the day - and will be a tranquil beautiful chilled space, where you can get away from the hustle and the bustle. With TLM going green at the Winter Edition, we are looking forward to hosting National Geographic's Planet or Plastic initiative at our Spring edition and hope to educate people on how to change behaviour, reduce and ultimately eliminate single use plastic, as well as increase awareness around the plastic crisis. Come make your pledge at the Planet or Plastic art exhibition and pledge desk and receive a free Consol drinking bottle, if you produce proof of a 'plastic-free alternative' purchase on the day. National Geographic, together with Consol and TLM will be hosting a Clean Up Drive of the Botanical Gardens. The Clean Up Drive will take place at 8:00am before the market starts at 9:00 and all volunteers will receive free entry to the market, as well as a free Consol water bottle. Become a TLM Clean Up Ambassador and make a difference in your community. The old TLM favourite Date-a-Dog initiative brought to you by CLAW and Benji and Moon will also be moving to the new space so that the pups can enjoy the classics in a quieter, less stressful environment. As TLM is passionate about supporting local charities, this time around The Santa Shoebox Project will also be taking part in the market. It doesn't have to be Christmas to make a difference in a child's life. The Santa Shoebox Project is a charity organisation supporting less fortunate children across our country, with teams throughout the whole of SA. With over 150 incredibly talented vendors (some old favorites and some exciting new ones), there definitely is something for everyone from incredible handmade jewellery to swimwear and sarongs, the cutest one-of-a-kind baby-grows, to authentic leather accessories and shoes. With spring in the air, we will also have beautiful flowers and plants, deliciously crisp and cold wine, bubbly and beer, as well as a range of delicious food that will make your mouth water. The Linden Market is a place for friends and families to spend a day in the gardens, reconnect and have a good time. As always the lineup promises to entertain, showcasing some fresh talent in the South African Music scene. Jack & June will get you in the mood with their sweet melodies and the happy tunes of Bad Peter will surely get your feet moving. While parents enjoy the entertainment, TLM always has some fun things to do for the kids like arts and crafts, face painting, jumping castle, bungee trampoline and much more. Bring the whole family (including your furry friends as TLM is dog-friendly), and celebrate Spring! General entry: R30, Pensioners: R15, Kids: U/12 Enter Free. Parking: R20 at Rooseveldt high (proceeds go to the school). Please make use of this parking rather than parking on the street, as it is safe! Online tickets: https://qkt.io/I1q32y
