This market is only open during school terms (closed during school holidays).
Please not that this market runs on a Thursday in the last week of the term, rather than a Friday. As a once-a-week-shop for all your healthy organic goodies, you can buy organic veggies, or order a weekly “veggie plus” box for collection, Afrikara community co-op dairy products and eggs, “real” honey from Wellington or a fresh coconut cut open in front of you. The fresh organic blueberries are great value! To drink, order a fresh ’Souper Juice’, smoothie or coconut water, an organic coffee in a compostable cup (you can bring your own mug!), or a yummy choc frio. Kids (of all ages) love The Ice Cream Guys’ famous gelato-style ice cream with organic ingredients-either stunning dairy flavours or sorbet options with fresh local seasonal fruit. The German Baker provides quality artisanal breads (including a 100% rye with pumpkin), tasty pretzels, custard slices, doughnuts and more… To eat: try delicious and nutritious vegan creations- salads, patties, quiches from Kim’s Ladle of Love’ table, or vegan rottis (toasted), tasty ‘New Delhi’ Indian style meals (samosas of course!) or a hint of North African cuisine in the form of home baked mini chicken pies, mini pizzas, little lemon meringues and more...or try Teboho’s choice of classic Afri-crepes. We also support local crafts such as handmade baskets and gifts. Founded in 2007, at OBDM we strive to support and promote organic and biodynamic produce. “Know the farm-and the farmer- from where your food comes”. We are a co-operative community of Conscious Consumers. “Vote with your rands” is our motto. We are a market where conversations can be held in a vibrant atmosphere. “Organic”, “biodynamic”, “sustainable”, “permaculture” “free range” ‘fair trade”, “earth friendly” “nutritious” “nutrient dense” are a part of our communal language.
